Frequently asked questions about Unicode to Bijoy
Why does the result look like English letters?
Bijoy stores Bangla as English letters and symbols, and the SutonnyMJ font draws them as Bangla. Without that font you see the letters themselves, such as “Avwg evsjvq”. Select the text in Word, choose SutonnyMJ, and it reads as Bangla.
Why would I still need Bijoy?
Many printing presses, newspapers and older design setups still expect Bijoy text in SutonnyMJ. The web, phones and email use Unicode. Keep your Unicode copy as the main one, and convert to Bijoy when a job needs it.
What happens to English words?
English letters are Bijoy codes too, so in SutonnyMJ an English word turns into Bangla-looking letters. In pasted text, English words are left unchanged and counted in the summary; after pasting, select them and give them an English font. In Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, only the Bangla text is converted and set in SutonnyMJ.
Can I convert a Word, Excel or PowerPoint file?
Yes. Drop a .docx, .xlsx or .pptx file below the text box. The Bangla text is converted and set in SutonnyMJ, and you download the file with -bijoy added to its name. SutonnyMJ has to be installed on the computer that opens it.
What if a character cannot be converted?
It is left in the result and marked, and the summary counts it. It usually means a letter or sign that Bijoy has no code for. Check the marked spots before you send the text to print.
Does it work on a long text?
Yes. Long text is converted in parts, so the page keeps responding while it works, and a progress bar shows how far it has got.
Does Copy add anything to the text?
No. Copy puts exactly the text you see in the result box on the clipboard, with nothing added.
Are my text and files uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in this browser tab, so your text and files stay on your device. Nothing you paste is saved, not even in the browser, so closing the tab clears it.
Is it free?
Yes. Every tool works without paying and without an account. Files can be up to 200 pages and 80 MB, and a run that fails costs you nothing.
Do I need to create an account?
No. All tools work without signing in. An account raises your hourly allowance and lets you see what you have processed.
