Frequently asked questions about HEIC to PDF

What is a HEIC file?

It is the format iPhones save photos in by default, and many newer Android phones too. It keeps good quality in a small file, but plenty of websites, forms and older computers cannot open it. A PDF opens everywhere.

Do I need to change my photos to JPG first?

No. Add the HEIC files as they are. Each one is turned into a high-quality JPG inside the PDF, so the PDF opens on any phone or computer.

What happens to my file?

Most browsers cannot open HEIC, so your photos are sent over an encrypted connection to our server, turned into the PDF there, and deleted as soon as it is built. A set of only JPG and PNG files is made into a PDF on your device and never uploaded.

Can I mix HEIC photos with JPG and PNG?

Yes. HEIC, JPG, PNG and WebP can all go into the same PDF, in whatever order you set.

Why is the PDF bigger than my HEIC photos?

HEIC packs a photo more tightly than JPG does, and a PDF has to carry a format every device can read, so the PDF usually comes out larger than the photos. If it needs to be smaller, run it through Compress PDF afterwards.

How do I send an iPhone photo as a PDF?

Open this page in Safari on your iPhone, tap Choose files, pick the photos from your library and create the PDF. It downloads to Files, and from there you can attach it to an email or a message.

Can I get one PDF for each photo?

Yes. With more than one photo, choose A PDF for each picture and each photo becomes its own PDF, all together in one ZIP.

Is it free?

Yes. Every tool works without paying and without an account. Files can be up to 200 pages and 80 MB, and a run that fails costs you nothing.

Do I need to create an account?

No. All tools work without signing in. An account raises your hourly allowance and lets you see what you have processed.
