Privacy Settings
The controls you have over your data, and how to exercise each one.
This page lists every control you actually have over your data here, and is honest about which ones are a switch you flip and which are a request a person acts on. The most powerful control is the first one, and it is not a setting at all — it is choosing a tool that never sends your file anywhere.
01How to read this page
A privacy settings page is only useful if it tells you which controls genuinely exist. Every control below is tagged with where it lives, so you know before you start whether it is something you do yourself or something you ask us for:
Entirely under your control. Takes effect immediately and needs nothing from us.
A control inside KovaPDF, available once you are signed in.
Not yet a self-service button. Email us and a person acts on it — we aim to respond within 30 days, and usually much sooner.
We would rather label something honestly as “by request” than put a switch on this page that does not exist. As self-service controls are built, they move up this page and the tag changes.
02The strongest control: don't send the file at all
Before any setting, the most effective privacy decision on this site is which tool you choose. Several operations run entirely inside your browser — page rendering, thumbnails, and reading a PDF’s existing text layer never leave your device.
Where a tool does upload, the Security page describes what happens to the file and how quickly it is destroyed. If a document is sensitive enough that you would rather it never crossed a network at all, that page is the one to read first.
03Use it without an account
In your browser
Every tool works without signing in. Guest use is a supported way to use the site, not a trial you are expected to graduate from.
As a guest, the only thing associated with you is a random identifier in the pm_anon cookie and a one-way hash of your IP address, both used solely for that limit. There is no name, no email, and no profile.
05End your sessions
In your account
Logging out revokes your session on the server, not just in your browser — the token is marked revoked in our records, so a copy of the cookie taken beforehand is dead the moment you log out.
If you believe someone else has access to your account, change your password and then write to support@kovapdf.com so we can revoke every other active session. Changing the password alone does not currently end sessions already signed in elsewhere.
06See what we hold about you
By request
Email support@kovapdf.com from the address on the account and we will send you everything associated with it: your account record, your operation history, and your session list, in a machine-readable format.
It is a short file. Your documents are not in it, because we do not have them — that is not an omission, it is the design described in the Privacy Policy.
07Correct something
By request
If your email address or any other detail we hold is wrong, write to support@kovapdf.com and we will correct it. Your password is not correctable in this sense — it is stored only as an irreversible hash, so it can be replaced through the reset flow but never read back.
08Delete your account and its data
By request
Email support@kovapdf.com from the account address asking for deletion. We remove the account record, every session, and your operation history, and we confirm when it is done.
Deletion is permanent and there is nothing to restore afterwards. Anything you have already downloaded is on your own device and is unaffected — nothing you have saved depends on your account continuing to exist.
09Object, restrict, or withdraw consent
By request
If you are covered by a law giving you the right to object to or restrict processing, write to support@kovapdf.com and say what you are objecting to. We will either stop, or explain the specific ground on which we believe we must continue.
There is no marketing consent to withdraw, because there is no marketing processing — we do not send promotional email and we do not share anything for anyone else’s advertising.
10Controls we honour that are not ours
Global Privacy Control, Do Not Track, tracker-blocking extensions, and strict browser privacy modes all work correctly here, in the sense that there is nothing for them to block. The site loads no advertising script, no cross-site tracker, and no third-party analytics tag, so there is no behaviour for these signals to change.
We mention this rather than claiming to “honour” the signals, which would imply we had something to switch off.
11If a request is not answered
Every request above goes to support@kovapdf.com, and we aim to reply within 30 days. If we have not, or if you are unhappy with the outcome, and you are in the EEA or the UK, you can complain to your national data protection authority. Elsewhere, your local regulator may offer a similar route.
