Everything TIFF to PDF can do

Turn TIFF scans and faxes into one PDF on your device, with every page of every file kept.

Every page, as it was

  • A page in the PDF for every page inside each TIFF
  • Fax pages kept exactly as coded, so they stay sharp and tiny
  • Grey and colour pages stored without loss, JPEG pages without a second compression
  • Each page at its scanned paper size, read from the file's dots per inch

Files it reads

  • Group 3, Group 4 and Modified Huffman fax pages
  • LZW, ZIP, PackBits, JPEG and uncompressed pages, in strips or tiles
  • Black and white, grey, colour, palette colour and CMYK, up to 16 bits

Pages

  • Match the image, or every page on A4, Letter, A3 or A5
  • One PDF for all the files, or one PDF per file
  • Made on your device: nothing is uploaded

How it works

TIFF to PDF in three steps

Add your TIFF files

Choose one TIFF or several, up to 30 files. A file with many pages gives a page in the PDF for each one.

Keep the paper size or pick one

Match the image is chosen, so a scanned Letter or A4 page stays Letter or A4. Or put every page on A4, Letter, A3 or A5.

Download one PDF

The pages come in the order of your files and of the pages inside them. The PDF is made on your device; nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions about TIFF to PDF

How do I convert a multi page TIFF to PDF?

Add the TIFF file and press Create PDF. Every page inside it becomes a page of the PDF, in the same order. Add several TIFF files to put all their pages into one PDF, in the order you set.

Will my fax pages lose quality?

No. Black and white fax pages go into the PDF exactly as the fax machine or scanner coded them, so every dot stays where it was and a page is often under 10 KB. Colour and grey pages are stored without loss too, and JPEG pages keep their own data, so they are not compressed a second time.

What page size will the PDF have?

With Match the image, each page comes out at the size it was scanned at, read from the dots per inch saved in the file: a fax of a Letter page becomes a Letter page. If a file does not say its resolution, each pixel becomes one point. Pick A4, Letter, A3 or A5 to put every page on the same sheet instead.

Are my TIFF files uploaded?

No. Your browser reads the TIFF and builds the PDF on your device. Only the fact that a task ran is counted. The one exception is an iPhone HEIC photo: a set with one in it is converted on our server, so add TIFF files and HEIC photos in separate rounds.

Which TIFF files can it read?

Fax pages (Group 3, Group 4 and Modified Huffman), LZW, ZIP (Deflate), PackBits, JPEG and uncompressed pages, in black and white, grey, colour, palette colour or CMYK, with 1 to 16 bits per channel, in strips or tiles, with or without transparency. Files from before 1995 that use the old kind of JPEG, and 32 bit floating point images, cannot be read yet.

Why is my PDF smaller than the TIFF?

A TIFF often carries the same picture uncompressed or with a weak compression. The PDF keeps every pixel but packs grey and colour pages tightly, and fax pages stay as compact as they were. Nothing is thrown away to make it smaller.

Can I select the text in a scanned TIFF?

Not in this PDF: a scan is a picture of a page. Run the PDF through OCR PDF to turn the words into text you can select and search.
