Which one should you use?
Choose KovaPDF if…
- You do not want another account. Fill, sign and download with no sign-up at all.
- The form is a scan or a flat PDF. Click anywhere to type, add checkmarks and dates, and line them up on the printed boxes.
- Later, someone else has to sign too. The same site sends it to them, from a free account, without the 2-per-30-days limit.
Choose Adobe Fill & Sign if…
- You already have an Adobe ID. Then signing in costs you nothing, and your forms stay in the same Adobe account as the rest of your work.
- You want a phone app rather than a browser page. Adobe offers Fill & Sign as an app. We work in the phone's browser, with no app to install.
When to use Fill & Sign, and when to send it
Filling and signing your own copy is one job: a school permission slip, a rental application, a W-4, a medical history form. You need to type in the blanks, sign at the bottom and email it back. That is what the editor at the top of this page does, without an account.
Getting someone else's signature is a different job, and it needs a record of who signed and when. For that, use Request Signatures or read how to get someone to sign a PDF.
Filling a form that has no fields
Many PDFs are just a scan of a paper form, with no boxes to click. In the editor:
- Choose Text and click on the line where the answer goes; type.
- Use the checkmark and date tools for the small boxes.
- Choose Sign, then draw your signature with a mouse or finger, type your name in a handwriting style, or upload a photo of your signature on white paper.
- Download. The file is a normal PDF that opens in any reader.
If the PDF does have form fields, they are filled in place and stay fillable, so whoever receives it can still read the answers as form data.
Is a drawn signature enough?
For most forms like these, yes: the person who asked for the form wanted your name and your mark. It is not a certificate-based digital signature. If a bank or a public body asks for one, use Digital Signature with your certificate, or make a free self-signed Digital ID there.
Adobe Fill & Sign alternative: common questions
Can I fill and sign a PDF without Adobe?
Yes. The editor on this page lets you type on any PDF, add a drawn, typed or uploaded signature, and download the file with no account.
Does Adobe Fill & Sign need an account?
Adobe's online tool asked us to sign in to an Adobe account before downloading when we checked in October 2026.
Can I sign on my phone?
Yes. The editor works in the phone's browser; draw your signature with your finger.
Is a drawn signature a digital signature?
No. It is an image of your signature on the page. A digital signature is made with a certificate; use the Digital Signature tool for that.
