Which one should you use?
Choose KovaPDF if…
- You send the same form to a list of people. Bulk send works on Free: one request per row of a CSV, from a saved template.
- You want a QR code on a poster or a front desk. A public signing link with a QR code lets each visitor start their own request. You can cap the number of responses, pause it or close it.
- You want to sign your own PDFs without any account. Sign PDF needs no sign-up at all.
Choose Dropbox Sign if…
- You already pay for Dropbox and want one vendor. Dropbox Sign is Dropbox's own product, and every paid plan has unlimited requests.
- You only sign your own documents. Self-signing is unlimited on Dropbox Sign's free plan, so three requests may never matter to you.
HelloSign is now Dropbox Sign
If you remember HelloSign, it is the same product under the Dropbox name. Search results still use both names, and old HelloSign links redirect to Dropbox Sign.
When three requests run out
The free plan's month starts on the day you signed up, so the fourth contract you need to send might be weeks away from a fresh allowance. On KovaPDF everyone's month starts on the 1st, which is easy to plan around. KovaPDF has a Free plan with a limited allowance, and paid Pro and Team plans. Pro removes the limits.
Sending one form to many people
This is where the two free plans differ most. Say you run a youth soccer league and need 40 parents to sign a consent form. On Dropbox Sign's free plan that is 40 separate requests, well past three. Here you would:
- make the consent form once as a template, with a Parent role;
- download the CSV header the template gives you (Parent name, Parent email);
- fill in 40 rows in a spreadsheet and upload it.
Each parent gets their own request, and you can follow all of them in your sent documents. If the 40 rows go past the Free plan's allowance, the list is checked before anything is sent, and Pro removes the limit. Read more in our guide to bulk sending for signature.

Three signature requests a month, renewing 30 days after the date you signed up, when we read Dropbox's help page in October 2026. Self-signing is unlimited.

No. Bulk send is part of the paid plans. On KovaPDF it works on the Free plan, within the allowance.
